Japan Day 2: lots of eating and lots of walking

We all decided it would be best to stay up till 11 our first night in Tokyo to better adjust to the time over here.  Following that advice, I was in bed before 11 and watched a couple of episodes of 30 Rock on DVD that I brought with me before passing out.

I woke up about 6 am and decided to go for a jog to check out the city before it got so crowded.  I ran through Shinjuku park and snapped a few shots on my iPhone including the giant slide and the hippo.  The city is so calm and quiet before the workday starts.  There were workmen sitting in their trucks parked along the side of the road, one after another, eating noodles for breakfast.

After the run, I showered and had breakfast in the room before meeting up with some of the other guys at the train station where we headed to Ginza to eat, shop, and take lots of photos.  Ginza is kind of like 5th Ave in NYC.  Very upscale retailers and nice restaurants.  I had an amazing crepe and iced latte around 10 am then we hit some of the stores.  Apple, Sony, Mikimoto among others.  We had an awesome lunch at the Imperial Hotel then needed to head back to our hotels before our customer research started at 5.

Not sure what we’ve got planned tomorrow, we’re thinking about checking out the Tokyo fish market.
