Elemental @ Gasworks has to be the most stuck up restaurant in Seattle
Some friends and I decided to try and get into this Wallingford restaurant on Saturday night. I’ve been here before, and know that it tends to fill up quickly and if you aren’t there at 5, you should try to get in after the first group finishes up. We showed up a little after eight, planning to wait 30 minutes or so until some of the early groups wrapped up, considering they’d been there over 3 hours. I asked the co-owner, “Phred” how long the wait would be for us to get a table. His response was probably the most arrogant I’ve ever encountered in my all my years of dining.
“there’s no way you all are getting in tonight, these people got here at 5 and will be here till we close.” It wasn’t so much what he said, but how he said it. It came out of his mouth with an air of, “run along little peon. you’re not worthy of my restaurant, now stop bothering me.”
Now, I’ve eaten here before. It’s ok, not great, but after this experience I’ll never be back.
